1.

Family Support & Safety Services

Family support, parenting time / supervised visitation, in-home safety, and substance abuse screening services are provided to enhance and strengthen families and to assist them to function as independently as possible. Providing education through a coaching model, services are family-centered, community-based, and culturally competent. The primary focus of Family Support Services is the safety and well-being of the children. Family Support Services address goals that are developed to strengthen the needs of families while protecting Nebraska’s youth.

    • Individualized service plans tailored to family / individual needs.

    • In home and community settings.

    • Skill development.

    • Access to community resources.

    • Minimum of weekly contact with probation officer/case worker.

    • Role-model behavior.

    • Supervised visitation to ensure a safe environment for growth.

    • In home safety services for home-based intervention and reintegration of the family unit.

    • Random drug screenings as requested by referral sources.

    • Utilizes the evidence based parenting model of Nurturing Parenting.

Foster Care Services

Foster Care Services provides support to traditional, relative, and kinship foster homes that provide out-of-home placement to a wide variety of youth. Placements are made by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services or Juvenile Probation. Our foster care program can support foster homes with the placement of youth that have a background of being victims of abuse or neglect, severe emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as those involved in the juvenile justice system. The combination of family-based care with specialized interventions creates a loving environment that supports the strengths and needs of the youth in care.

    • Collaboration with DHHS / Probation and the foster home to ensure successful child placement.

    • Respite care options.

    • 24/7 On-Call support and crisis intervention.

    • Weekly/Monthly visits by trained staff.

    • Bilingual support.(currently in Spanish)

    • Training provided to enhance education of the child welfare system.

 
 

3.

Intensive Family Preservation/
Reunification

Provides in-home family-focused, strength-based crisis intervention services designed to maintain children safely in their homes and to prevent the unnecessary separation of families.

This also provides intensive therapeutic and skill-building interventions to families whose children have been removed and placed out of the family home for an extensive amount of time. Intensive Family Reunification improves parenting capacity as well as children’s well-being, and families are safely reunified because of their change in behavior.

    • Intensive service that meets 8-10 hours per week (Intensive Family Preservation) or 4-6 hours per week (Intensive Family Reunification) to improve outcomes for families.

    • Therapeutic services working with a therapist and skill builder team to prevent child removals and reunify families.

    • 24/7 crisis intervention and support.

    • Assessment and screening as needed to determine treatment needs.

    • Utilizes the evidence based parenting model of Nurturing Parenting.

    • Utilizes the evidence based model of Motivational Interviewing.

    • Individualized service plans tailored to strengthen and needs of the family.

    • In home and community settings.

    • Minimum of weekly contact with probation officer/case worker.

    • Role-modeling, coaching, and skill development for positive behavioral change.

    • In home safety services for home-based intervention and reintegration or maintenance of the family unit.

    • Accessing community resources and referrals/recommendations for other therapeutic programming.

    • Advocacy for families at school, family team meetings, etc.
