| Family Support Services are provided to enhance and strengthen families and to assist them to function as independently as possible. Providing education, through a coaching model, services are family-centered, community based and culturally competent. Family Support Services address only those issues or goals that are brought to the family by the referral plan. The primary focus for Family Support Services is the safety of the children at home and to enable the children to return home. Some of the main outcomes of Family Support Services are to reduce or eliminate neglect, abuse or exploitation of children unable to protect their own interests; achieve or maintain economic self-support; and to prevent, reduce or eliminate dependency. Family Support is conducted in the individual’s or family’s home or in other settings as stated in the referral plan.
